Laser hair removal

Laser hair removal works to destroy the hair’s root down to the follicle via a pulsed light.
Pigment in the follicles absorb the light. That destroys the hair.

If you are not happy with shaving, tweezing, or waxing to remove unwanted hair, laser hair removal may be an option worth considering.

Lasers are useful for removing unwanted hair from the face, leg, arm, underarm, bikini line, and other areas.

Hair grows in several phases (anagen: growing phase, telogen:resting phase, catagen:sgedding phase) and a laser can only affect the currently active growing hair follicles that is early anagen phase. Hence, several sessions are needed to damage the hair in all phases of growth and force it to revert to a vellus that is fine and light-colored small hair.

Multiple treatments depending on the type of hair and skin color have been shown to provide long-term reduction of hair. Most patients need a minimum of eight treatments.

Hair removal works best on people with light complexion who have dark hair. This is because the pigment contrast makes it easier for the laser to target the hair and directly go into the follicle, and destroy the follicle.

People with dark skin or light hair may need more treatment sessions than others.

Benefits of laser hair removal are:

The light precisly targets colour cells of  the hair follicles only. Lasers selectively target dark and coarse hair roots within the follicles while leaving the surrounding skin and other skin structures undamaged.

Laser is super fast. . Each pulse of the laser takes a fraction of a second and can treat many hairs at the same time. Small areas such as the upper lip can be treated in less than a minute, and large areas, such as the back or legs, may take up to an hour and full body laser may take mire than an hour.

The result is permanent. Most patients have permanent hair loss after an average of four to eight sessions.
